Kaiser Chiefs and Yuksek

Thursday, December 11, 2008

This is for all the electro lovers out there. The original of ‘Never Miss A Beat’ is OK but Yuksek really has fun with this track and turns it into a heater. He keeps the right amount of vocals to make sure it still sounds like a Kaiser Cheifs‘ song while adding his supreme electro touch to everything else. Enjoy.

M83 Onslaught

Thursday, December 4, 2008

M83 had one of the best albums of the year. It’s unquestionable. Before anyone jumped on the 80s bandwagon, this French producer was able to create an album full of tracks that summed up his youth and taught other artists what being a real producer means. The layers of sound, the textures, the nostalgia-inducing synths, the otherworldly vocals… he’s working on a whole different level.

What a lot of people don’t know is that he’s also a big player in the remix game. His latest takes a Fortune track and beefs it up with some New Order/Depeche Mode inspired synths and drums that ignite bedroom dance parties.

The Fall

Thursday, December 4, 2008

This movie deserves much love. It came out in May, but if you haven’t seen it then definitely check it. It’s an epic narrative with super cool footage all over the world. Spike Jonze reps the film. It’s legit.
