I can’t tell you how excited this image makes me. Yes, that is right, it is Snake Eyes from everyone’s favorite childhood toy, G.I. Joe. My buddy Pete sent this to me and I nearly crapped myself in excitement. In my basement Voltron and various G.I. Joe’s DID NOT get along. Most of the time Voltron would stomp out the G.I. Joe’s pretty easily (I’ve been a fan of robots over humans for a long time now) but sometimes Snake Eyes would get real pissed (pissed drunk… not pissed off… Snake Eyes had a drinking problem in my world) and start slicing and dicing with that sword of his. Those were always pretty epic battles. Storm Shadow and Snake Eyes were always my boys when it came to fighting time.

Well my prayers have been answered and now there’s a movie coming out that will hopefully bring to life the fantasies I played out as a youngling. I’m a little worried because Marlon Wayans is playing Rip Cord but I think I can let it slide because they got Dennis Quaid to play General Hawk. I wasn’t ready for Robert Downey Jr. to play Iron Man but he was a great surprise, hopefully this is more of the same.

Remember the Mortal Combat movie? Yea? Well that was amazing so hopefully this is the same (complete with badass electronic soundtrack so you and your friends can fire up that ghetto blaster and do a little sparring. I promise its not homo-erotic at all).

Release date is summer 2009. Start getting excited.
