Last week I was making my way through some music blogs and a handful of them had posted Lil Wayne’s new track “Hot Revolver” which has been labeled as Lil’s latest attempt at rock music. I thought to myself this song is going to be terrible, this song is going to use auto-tune and Lil’ Wayne is going to die young. Two of these were confirmed on my first listen of the song. There’s a Green Day line used within the first ten seconds of the song and the chorus sounds so familiar I was convinced it was a sample. As my day continued, I realized my play count was quickly building up. It was then that I realized “Hot Revolver” like many songs before it is so bad, it’s good.
I started to think of other songs that I have come across in life that are so bad, they’re good. Here’s two legendary “Baood” tracks. Hawthorne Height’s is a band that rode the scr-emo wave around the time of The Used, My Chemical Romance and Taking Back Sunday. They’re song “Ohio is for Lovers” is one of those perfectly formulated tracks that you can’t help but love proudly behind closed doors with your first year college roommate.

All Saints were a bit of a perplexing situation. They became one of the most successful British pop groups of the 1990s, with 9 Top 10 singles (including five number ones), two platinum albums (including a number one), two gold albums and record sales in excess of 10 million worldwide. On the other hand, they were not that good looking and one of them had braces for majority of their time on the charts. Nevertheless, “Never Ever” is arguably one of the most memorable anthems of our generation and on the real, I have quoted it multiple times in electronic love letters. Girl, sometimes vocabulary runs through my head.
