Here’s a video of Chester French playing their lead single, “She Loves Everybody,” live and stripped down on Radio Milwaukee a couple months ago in Fall 2008. Chester French is everybody’s favourite Ivey League duo signed to Pharrell’s Star Trak label. You can check out one of their newer singles, “Dance” as well as a Steve Aoki remix of “She Loves Everybody”.

P,B & J – Just The Past
Wednesday, February 18, 2009
Coverage of Peter, Bjorn & John is increasing as the release of Living Things gets closer. The album is scheduled to release this March. Here’s a video of the band performing one of their new songs, “Just The Past.” This soft spoken song is executed perfectly between the three members and topped with front man Peter Moren’s melodic voice. You can check out the video for their first single, “Living Things” right here.
Opening Ceremony’s New Website
Monday, February 16, 2009
Last time I was in New York City, the two most impressive stores I came across were Odin and Opening Ceremony. I was pretty happy when Odin dropped their online store a few months ago which features a rotating portion of their store available for purchase online. Today, Opening Ceremony debuted their new website which features a substantial portion of their New York and LA stores collection available for online purchase. This is great news for those who were previously making the most of Opening Ceremony’s e-mail ordering without a catalogue.
Update: Opening Ceremony’s Spring 2009 shoe line just made it on to their new online store. Check them out. They rival Common Projects as my favourite shoemaker of 2008.
La Roux – In For The Kill
Sunday, February 15, 2009
This is La Roux‘s new video for her song “In For The Kill”. The video looks very similar to Kavinsky’s “1981″ video but I think it’s still very cool. Brought the cartoon into the real life. Her glowing eyes near the end are quite badass as well.
I first heard of La Roux when she released “Quicksand” with all of those amazing remixes and I’m happy to see she’s not a one hit wonder. Her voice will get stuck in your head for days on end because it’s nothing like you’ve heard before. She may be the UK’s response to Lady GaGa but I’m feeling this way more than GaGa.
Happy Valentine’s Day
Saturday, February 14, 2009
I’ve been looking for the most romantic song of life to put up on this auspicious day of love and greeting cards. I searched through some Prince, Wolf Parade, John Legend, The Beatles, Bon Iver and Shaggy, but didn’t find that perfect song. I thought to myself who represents the romantic voice of our generation? Then I realized, it’s not just one person, but a formidable pairing of The Dream and Fabolous. So this Valentine’s Day let your girl know what she is out of 10 and remember “If she fine, if shawty a dime, you should tip her.”

The Dream feat. Fabolous – Shawty is a 10 (Remix)
If Saint Valentine has shown you no love this year and you find yourself chilling with your boys, put on “Fuck You” from Dre’s 2001 and make plans for this weekend when you’re going to aggressively roam Clubland looking for a wifey.
Nothing to Worry About
Friday, February 13, 2009
Peter, Bjorn and John released the video for their newest single, “Nothing to Worry About“. The video is slightly on the wild side (East Asia) and features some excellent choreographed dancing, which is always a good idea. Check their official website as well as their Myspace to stream a couple of new tracks from their upcoming album, “Living Things”. You can also pre-order the album on iTunes and receive an instant download of “Nothing to Worry About”.
Ghetta Flow
Thursday, February 12, 2009
Two of the songs I’ve grabbed this week have been from two of the better rappers making waves these days. They are Rhymefest and Kid CuDi. Both rappers have distinct flow and could be labelled as “intellectual rappers” simply in that they rap about meaningful content. Both of these tracks pack some heavy thoughts in less than three minutes. Listen, think, enjoy.

(Ed. Can you name the song Kid CuDi raps over? No? LCD Soundsystem – Someone Great. He’s a smart man attaching himself to an established act in the electronic scene. Sounds eerily like a Mr. West we all know.)
Chapter World x Reebok Juggernaut
Wednesday, February 11, 2009
Just when I thought I had grown up, Reebok drops these new Pumps in collaboration with Japan’s Chapter World. The kicks come in the Court Victory Pump in red and the Pump Omni Lite in blue. There’s something childishly perfect about these new colourways and like many exceptional pieces coming out these days, they’re sold in Japan.
we are ENFANT TERRIBLE
Tuesday, February 10, 2009
I’ve had this song on my computer for awhile now but somehow I ignored it until it randomly popped on while I was working on some pictures yesterday. I immediately stopped and checked who the artist was. It turns out it was Enfant Terrible (or we are ENFANT TERRIBLE as they seem to go by now).
They kind of sound like a more poppy and listenable version of Crystal Castles. As some of you may know Crystal Castles quickly jumped on my radar because of their use of 8-bit sounds and with we are ENFANT TERRIBLE it is no different.
Seagull is an extremely cute song (and I mean that in the best way possible) that after a few listens should get you hooked.

Stay together for the kids
Monday, February 9, 2009
Blink-182 is back. The band presented an award at the 2009 Grammy Awards and let the world know that they are reuniting for a tour and to record a new album. Growing up on Blink-182 I was pretty emotional to see them together again. I just kept thinking, even if you don’t make music together right now, just be super best friends again. It’s just one more reason to stay positive in 2009.
In a statement sent to the media, the band said, “To put it simply, We’re back. We mean, really back. Picking up where we left off and then some. In the studio writing and recording a new album. Preparing to tour the world yet again. Friendships reformed. 17 years deep in our legacy.”
