I did not know the BC One competition even existed until I watched it last night on MTV. Now I don’t condone watching MTV regularly but they’ve really upped their game for this new season. How’s Your News is probably the funniest show on television right now (Yes, even funnier [and more inspiring] than Flight Of The Conchords… a post will be coming soon), and there’s a few of those crazy extreme sports shows to keep things interesting.

ANYWAYS, the Red Bull BC One competition is a B-Boy competition that gets the best B-Boys from around the world to compete for the title of best B-Boy in the world. I thought this would just be another stupid Randy Jackson vehicle or a You Got Served but it turns out to actually be a legitimate competition that exhibits some of the best dancing in the world right now. I watched this show for an hour and did not get bored, they regularly pulled out moves I didn’t even know were possible. Oh also they played real music with real DJs! Not these pre-recorded “megamixes” of Britney Spears and Rihanna you see on that show AC Slater host’s, but electronic acts from all over the world mixed in with classic B-Boy tunes like Run DMC’s ‘It’s Tricky’ and Black Sheep’s ‘The Choice Is Yours’.

Peep the video of the 2008 Final above and try to catch it on television if you can. Some of the best moves (like when Lil Ceng somehow took his shirt off while doing a headspin and then did a flip while throwing it at the crowd, or Taisuke doing mad disrespect to other competitors in the middle of dance routines) you can’t find on YouTube.
