Complex.com featured an interesting retail spotlight today, which is a hybrid idea consisting of a café, concept shop and an art exhibition all in the same space. The space opened by Susan Hancock is largely Japanese culture-influenced and currently features an art gallery currated by street-turned-exhibit artist KAWS. KAWS is blowing up large these days with collaborations with Trek for Lance Armstrong, New York Magazine as well as his own clothing line, Original Fake. Royal/T features some exlusive Original Fake pieces as well as art from Olaf Breuning, Carol Dunham, Andre Ethier, Tom Friedman, Misaki Kawai, Hideaki Kawashima, KAWS, Mike Kelley, Ted Mineo, Takashi Murakami, Mr. Yoshimoto Nara, Oliver Payne & Nick Relph, Richard Prince, William Sasnal, David Shrigley, Jim Torok and Yan Pei-Ming.
