Slim Shady + Travis Barker

Wednesday, June 10, 2009

Travis Barker has always been one of those guys with one too many things on his plate. In the last few years we’ve seen him drum for Blink 182, Box Car Racer, The Transplants, (+44), DJ AM and more recently he’s began producing. He’s remixed a handful of tracks of which Jay-Z’s “Jockin Jay-Z” has gotten him the most attention. The song is below so you can make up your mind as to if Kanye or Travis’ production does justice to Jay. Essentially, Travis has taken some hip-hop tracks and added his punk roots to the production.

Most recently, he remixed Eminem’s “3am” one of the disturbing murderous ballads from Relapse. Check the above video in HQ and see what you think of the track versus the original Dr. Dre production. You can also enjoy one of Travis’ freestyle, single attempt drum tracks in its entirety in the video. Fact: Travis recorded all the drum parts for Blink-182′s Take Off Your Pants and Jacket in one day.
