I posted about Marina & The Diamonds a while ago but they were thrown in the mix with a couple of other bands/songs I was listening to at the time and didn’t get the attention she deserves. I was always hoping she would give me another reason to bring her up again and thankfully the have. Remixes of her song “I Am Not A Robot” have been popping up all over the place and each one has been special in its own right. Being the generous guy I am, I have compiled all of them (along with the original) for your listening pleasure. I really dig what Marina is doing and, like I said before, I think she is better than everyone’s favorite indie darling Lykke Li. “I Am Not A Robot” is my favorite song of hers and this is despite the thousands of claims throughout my lifetime that I AM a robot. That’s how good the song and remixes are, they even speak to a robot like me.

Each remix is special in it’s own way. The Shoes take the song and turn it into a 4-0n-the-floor stomper, Starsmith adds some synth stabs and beefs up the atmospherics, and Aspirins For My Children up the drama factor while doing a whole lot of vocal layering. Hard to pick a favorite in the bunch so just get them all.

BTW anyone who reads this blog will be spared in the robot uprising in 2010. You have a robot friend in me.
