It’s no secret that I love the 80s. You kind of have to if you enjoy electronic music. However, where as 4 years ago I was wearing my pastel colored Pumps and walking to class listening to “You Spin Me Round”, I now feel nostalgic for 90s songs like “It Takes Two” and “Whoomp! There It Is”. It’s a fundamental shift.
Well that was a horrible introduction because these are actually 80s inspired tunes that I love right now. These tunes are all legit and deserve their own post, but instead of dragging this on over the week, just trust that you should get everyone of these songs (and check out the bands themselves).
Here are some quick descriptions of the tunes:
“Without U Girl” is my favorite song at the moment and it comes from the new Frenchies on the scene VEKTORKAT.
Futurecop! are old favorites and on “Ain’t That Fresh” they take Skeelo’s classic rap tune “I Wish” and give it their tried and true 80s/00s touch.
“Delight” comes from Maethelvin and is for those summer days when all you want to hear are some warm synths and glittering beats.
Grab your pumps, Put on your wayfarers, throw on your heat sensitive t-shirt, hop in your Deleorean, and straight ride to these killers.
