Ou Est Le Swimming Pool are a British trio that have made one of the catchiest songs in months, “Dance The Way I Feel”. Taken from their own mouth: “if you could mix up Pet Shop Boys, Human League, Run DMC, Yazoo and Japan in a blender, with a side order of Ultravox, Liasons Dangereuses and Duran Duran, then I reckon you’d be somewhere near Le Pool’s sound.”
A great companion to yesterday’s Mirrors post.

Mirrors is what you everyone wished the 80s sounded like which means it is super rad. Their sound is reminiscent of M83’s Saturdays=Youth LP informed by heavy British influences (as opposed to the M83’s overt French influences [yea I used "overt"]) and maybe a tinge of krautrock. These kids definitely own a few Tears for Fears albums. Amazing stuff.

Handsome Clothing is launching our new line in less than a week. The Outer Space Series is coming this Tuesday to the online store. Here’s some pictures of the new pieces for you to check. The thematic line is inspired by a tale of outer space travel and a couple of astronauts’ spiritual journey through the universe. The Outer Space Series launch will be accompanied with the story/photographs that inspired it as well as a new DJ Underpants produced mix. Until then, be good.
Band of Outsiders released some more pieces from their Fall/Winter 2009 Line. They’re October release has some great items. Here’s some of our favourites including the duffle coat, dinner jackets and shirts you’ll have to go up a couple of sizes in. The best news: you can grab them all now at Forward.
Everyone who was a part of the great electro-rising of 2004 should be well acquainted with Australia’s Van She. Their song “Kelly” got me through an entirely too cold and dark winter in Canada and I am forever thankful.
They’ve disappeared from the blogs for awhile but it looks like they’re gearing up for a new onslaught as Australian radio has been playing a brand new song by the aussies. It’s a cover of Blue Oyster Cult’s “(Don’t Fear) The Reaper)” and I love it. It takes the warm melody-laden parts of “Kelly” and mixes it with they best parts of their remix of I Am Finn’s “I Love You”. Perfect mix.

I came across this video of Kid Cudi and it made me super happy. I wanted it to share it with everybody who relates to Cudi’s life perspective and feels his music. I was thinking the other day that I’m thankful that Kid Cudi got the opportunity to make Man on the Moon cause it’s become one of my favourite albums of all time. It seems the ideal in life is to close the gap between your reality and your dreams; don’t cut your time short to achieve that.
Here’s the three best Cudi songs I could find for life-contemplation:

A quick post as it’s been a long day of work. Devendra Banhart’s album came out today. It’s a great full album (by that I mean you can listen to it from beginning to end without the uncontrollable need to skip a song) that any previous fans of him should thoroughly enjoy. My personal favorite song is “Foolin’”, probably because it reminds me of the The Clash’s “Police and Thieves”.
Buy the album.

BONUS: “Police & Thieves” is one of my all-time favorite songs. It should be one of yours too.

Chauffeur just came out with their first track for the launch of the Gucci Temporary Icon Stores. Chauffeur, consisting of Mark Ronson, Theophilus London and Sam Sparro, is a semi-secretive super group who I’m sure we’ll be seeing more of. You’ll especially enjoy this track if you’re a fan of slow motion dance music.

Wale has collaborated with John Mayer (pictured) on a new track produced by Mark Ronson. It’s not gonna make it’s way onto Attention: Deficit, but it’s pretty serious nonetheless. The track is structured around Wale’s lyrical letters to different influences on his life. Hopefully the living and parted role models on the track will feel the song as much as we are. You can check Wale out in Toronto this Saturday opening for Jay-Z at the ACC.
