This is for all the people wishing we brought the funk more (possibly just me). “They Don’t Want Me” sounds like a long lost B-Side from an old Motown record. It is that good. It’s like Marvin Gaye was brought back to life to rock one last jam. Electric Wire Hustle, a trio from New Zealand, are out to prove that Kiwi’s can make something more than joke songs (ie. Flight of the Conchords).
Here is a better and more official description of the Electric Wire Hustle: “Developing their own sound and twist on modern hip-hop, psychedelic and soul, the music of EWH reaches forward while referencing key points of music’s past. Thick drums and percussion layered with synth lines, hints of the Fender Rhodes and nylon stringed guitars have your neck snapping while your ears crane to its soulful vocals.”
A little something different to keep your music library fresh.
