Movie Review: Where The Wild Things Are

Where The Wild Things Are | Handsome Clothing Co.

We’ve kind of become known for our super short movie reviews (we hate movie reviews that spoil it), so here it goes:

Where The Wild Things Are
is an art film that discusses growing-up, extreme emotions, and the 21st century patriarchal family unit, all under the guise of a “childrens movie”.

Life-affirming? Possibly.

Go see it? Yes.

Rent or Theatre? Rent. It just seems more appropriate to take a day off from work, and watch it in a home made fort with chocolate cake and milk.

BONUS: A word from Spike Jonze about the influence Arcade Fire played on the making of the film: “I wrote the whole script to Arcade Fire’s Funeral, and I listened to that song a lot ["Wake Up"]. That record is thematically very connected to the film.”

Even though they use “Wake Up” in the trailer I think Neighborhood #1 (Tunnels) is more connected to the themes of the film.
