SUPER – our favourite, Italian, handmade, Zeiss Lens optics company – has come out with the new “People” model. The silhouette is a short departure from SUPER’s existing models, but it’s great to see the brand consistently doing their thing so well. Here’s a couple of our favourite colourways:
Update: SUPER announced that it’s going to make a limited run of their classic flattop model in a leather wrapped finish. The Italian leather versions will be available through the SUPER Online Store from December 3rd – 10th.
After listening to Cudi’s mixtapes and his first album I was convinced he was possibly the best rapper of our generation. A new voice in hip hop that would break from the restricting conventions of the genre. Man On The Moon stands strong as the album of the year for me. I was seriously excited to see him live.
Pre-Cudi:
Canadian boys, Keys N Krates opened the show up. They were a pleasant surprise and managed to get the crowd enthused and on their side early on in their set. The three tore through a super fast paced set on keyboard, turntables and drums. The crowd went wild as they mixed in Hov’s Public Service Announcement, A Milli and some Fugees. I was glad to see some Canadian talent giving us one more reason to love Toronto.
After Key N Krates went off, the crowd started to get antsy as time passed with no sign of Cudi on the scene. After the hour mark, the once polite people started a unison boooooo. I made a bet as we waited that Cudi would apologize for keeping the fans waiting.
The Heartache:
Kid Cudi came out onto the dark stage with some shredding intro guitar, 30 seconds later, the music cut out, take two. Shredding guitar transitioned to Already Home and Cudi spit his verse off The Blueprint 3. A couple of songs in, a few things became apparent and it was not a pleasant revelation.
Cudi, who did have spastic spurts of energy, didn’t care too much to be understood, feedback screeched over the speakers every time he went to either side of the stage and his banter in-between songs was short of inspirational. After his opening track, Cudi demanded liquor over the microphone. The laughter of the loyal fans dissipated as they waited for Cudi who “won’t do this show unless I’m drunk” waited for Plain Pat to mix him a Greygoose + Redbull for about five minutes. His arguably perfect tracks were cut up as he “yaaaa”ed over them and yelled “who got weed?!” over a few choruses. It seemed so indicative of the show’s vibe when Cudi turned his back on his fans to rap to a cameraman on stage. “We’re filming a documentary”. I felt personally offended.
Two times during the show, he stopped a track when his DJ and him weren’t quite in sync. Both times, he got the crowd to boo the DJ and then reconcile. It was short of professional.
I lost the bet. Cudi did not apologize for making the fans wait.
The Redeemer:
There were definitely high points in the set as well. Especially good tracks included Soundtrack 2 My Life, Man On the Moon, Pursuit of Happiness and an upcoming track which Cudi performed acapella.
Halfway through his set, the lights went out and Cudi said he had a friend he wanted to introduce the crowd to. Given the casual nature of the whole show, I thought of how disinteresting it would be to meet one of Cudi’s friends during a concert. The lights came on to reveal Toronto’s own Drake. Yay! I had flashback’s to his guest appearance at the Jay-Z concert in Toronto, as he bounced onto center stage. Drake repped Toronto hard, dominated his verse from Forever and hyped Cudi during Make Her Say. It seemed like a historic moment, or at least blog worthy.
This movie looks super intense, emotional and historic.

I love this group, I love this song, and I love this video. I’m the guy on the mountain banging the drum… I swear.

New York Magazine caught up with Humberto Leon, co-founder of Opening Ceremony, on the company, storefront and what every man and woman should own. Leon started Opening Ceremony with his college friend Carol Lim in 2002. Now they’ve got two more stores in LA and Tokyo and have collaborated with some of fashion’s best. Here’s the interview:
What should every man stock in his closet?
A perfect suit, a perfect shirt, a perfect pair of shoes, great, hole-free socks, underwear that feels good, T-shirts from your childhood (even if they are ironic), a Pendleton flannel, gray slacks, great khakis, jeans that make you look good, a Barbour coat, New Balance sneakers, Rod Lavers, a Supreme hat, and too many others to name.
Lupe is making his way back into the spotlight he deserves as promised. Step 1: Make a cassette style mixtape for Thanksgiving weekend. Done.
Here’s twenty-two minutes of straight Fiasco. My favourite samples have to be Hov’s So Ghetto and The Clipse’ Popular Demand. Enjoy.

Bobby Hundreds, co-founder of The Hundreds, has been posting photographs from a tour he took of The DeLorean Motor Company. There’s a lot of buzz about it as it leads up to a collaboration between The Hundreds and DeLorean, the details of which are still to be heard. What I’m confused about is who is staffed on DeLorean? The company only made one model, Back To The Future’s DMC-12. Two things you may not know related to this collaboration:
DeLorean has an online store set up on their site where you can buy awesome, cheesy merch. The Christmas 2009 Catalog just dropped and it’s hot.
The Unofficial anthem of the collaboration teaser has gotten some of RnB’s biggest names together. R. Kelly teamed up with Robin Thicke, Tyrese and The Dream on Pregnant. It’s a players’ anthem about growing up and intentionally having children or “collaborations” as The Hundreds and DeLorean prepare to do. Listen to the first 30 seconds and nothing more.

Sidenote: This song is only available to stream and not to download because it’s terrible and should not be listened to multiple times. Much love.
We have another update from electro-pop producer extraordinaire, I Am Noxious. His newest song “Show You Everything” is a self described, “dancey lil thing inspired by Fleet Foxes and The Macarena Song”.
It sounds interesting and it is. Another perfect little pop song about love that we love. Get it and make sure to show him some support on his MySpace.

I just came across this Russian T-shirt brand, daraGOY, and it is next level when it comes to the details. This Madonna piece caught my eye, but after some research I was even more impressed by the process than the final product. Each shirt is made from a hand-cut stencil and then hand painted onto the fabric. On top of that, The shirts are solely available through special order. You can gets yours at the Rogan Store, NYC.
Sidenote: daraGOY translates to “expensive” in Russian.
