I’ve been fascinated by Lil’ Wayne as a person since reading his uncut Q&A with GQ (totally worth reading right now) several months ago. I couldn’t comprehend his day to day life and what seems to be an increasing likelihood of an early death. The boy goes through days without seeing the sun while consistently consuming weed, candy and cough-syrup. Aside from his antics, Wayne won a Grammy for The Carter III, which he also watched go triple-platinum.

Quincy Jones III has produced and is releasing The Carter documentary next week. The Carter debuted at The Sundance Film Festival to solid reviews, but was hindered from a theater release after a lawsuit was filed by Lil’ Wayne for some of the film’s content. On November 17th, The Carter will be available on DVD and the world will get a little more insight into the life of the self-proclaimed martian.
