In our ongoing search for great products for everyday, we came across Murdock London’s Matt Mudd Grooming Clay on an apt suggestion. The UK-based heritage barber shop has a handful of shops around the city including one inside Liberty. Check it out for an experience foreign to our generation – a glass of scotch over some well-paced conversation, a haircut and a wet shave.
Their Grooming Clay is one of the best pomade-like styling aids on the market. It gives a subtle finish and manages to look natural the next day for the man on the go. It’s available among a multitude of their products in the Murdock London Online Shop.
Also, check out their Gentlemen’s Blog.

We were happy to see the launch of (capsule) Travel Mart this year as we get ready to attend (capsule) Clothing Show next week in New York City. The Travel Mart consists of a few pieces made exclusively for (capsule) this year from the likes of Jack Spade, Ally Capellino and Mark McNairy. One of our favourite is the Sharps Barber & Shop x (capsule) Grooming Kit. It’s a little male-centric travel set of shaving and grooming products from the local NYC shop.
We’re looking forward to the show and checking out SS2010 lines from some of our favourite brands including: Billy Reid, Fifth Avenue Shoe Repair, Public School, Norse Projects, New Balance, Kitsuné, RETROSUPERFUTURE, Rogues Gallery, Velour, YMC and Won Hundred.
Send us an e mail or tweet if you’re at the show or in the city.

In Malin + Goetz short tradition of great products, clean packaging and natural ingredients, their most recent addition is the Hair Pomade. As promised, the pomade provides a stronger alternative to their Sage Styling Cream.
The pomade provides a matte finish using meadowfoam seed, cannabis sativa seed and soybean hydrate. In addition, Yucca and aloe plant extracts help prevent damage and protect.
Available in the Malin + Goetz Online Shop.

There have been some interesting trends with men lately including a new appreciation for fashionable apothecary and a return to traditional grooming. Leading the trend, Baxter of California has been popping up in menswear boutiques since its conception in 1965 with their clean packaging and multitude of masculine products.
We had a chance to preview the entire Baxter line and were especially impressed with their shaving products. The Super Close Shave Formula and After Shave Balm are both worth checking out. Even more exciting is the Baxter Safety Razor. The chrome plated, double edge, safety razor is making a resurgence years after its conception in the late 18th century.
You can upgrade your shaving experience and pick up the Baxter of California shaving line in their Online Shop.

When it comes to filling our bathrooms with products, we often use the same approach as filling our closets. Shu Uemura is a Japanese company, with simple and clean aesthetics. Luckily, if you do get past the packaging, you won’t be dissapointed by the products within.
Once we got over how cool it was simply to use Japanese hair product we were actually really impressed by the quality. Their Art of Hair Shape Paste is solid for doing your hair up without it becoming hard or greasy. Worth a grab especially with the Shu Uemura’s complimentary shipping in their online store.

Malin + Goetz are the top of the advanced skincare and perfume scene as far as we’re concerned. They continue to set themselves apart with exceptional products, presentation, and you’ll probably find yourselves bumping into their products at top fashion retailers around the world.
One of the newest editions to the line is their eucalyptus deodorant, which is one of the most well created essentials in a while. It’s legitimately effective, smells great and stands well among its peers (pictured). If you’re a fan of the company and want more excitement – there was talk at the flagship store of an M + G Pomade in production.

As menswear continues to expand, it disregards the boundaries that used to hinder the gender. Men have new pursuits they must spend money on. A growing trend that the new generation of men have adopted is taking care of our skin.
When it comes to doing so, Malin + Goetz is here to help you do it well. After picking up about half their entire line, and being impressed by each item, I’m ready to vouch for the brand. They’re products are solid, packaged well, make your skin soft and smell like a sensitive man would.
You can grab what you’re feeling and get samples of the rest at their online store.

This news seems kind of odd and obscure, but it’s not to be overlooked among endless piles of recent collaborations. This is exceptional largely because Kiehl’s is legitimately awesome. It’s a great product that we support and if you’re gonna use it, why not make your toiletries look a little cooler?
For the release, NY graffiti artist, KAWS has team up with the non-profit RxArt and Keihl’s. 100% of the profits from the product will go towards RxArt’s mission of curating installations in hospitals across the United States.

A rapper once asked does the fact that you have $300 jeans on mean you dream wrong? I don’t think so. Expensive jeans have become standard these days making men everywhere feel more dressed up in denim. It’s an exceptional piece in terms of pricing that seems disproportionately expensive to other pieces in our casual wardrobe. Sometimes, it can be stressful taking care of them. Personally, I’ve gone with the advice of washing denim close to never to keep them looking as they were on purchase. Airing them out is surprisingly effective as far as my nose can tell, but sometimes there’s a better solution out there if we were just educated on the matter. Oki-ni has come out with their tech-ni-cal guide to denim. It’s totally worth checking out for some education on how to wash your jeans, their construction, different denim finishes and a little history on the material.

I never thought I’d ever do this. I’m not sure I even want to do this but I feel the need to tell people about this soap because it’s the best thing that has joined my shower since I got a shower radio when I was a teenager. First of all, I am a big fan of the bar of soap coming back. I’ve never really bought into this whole shower gel phenomena and it feels right to get a bar back in the bathroom. It also doesn’t hurt my ego as much when I talk about a soap that’s nicknamed “ultimate man”.
Yep, I just posted about soap. Make fun of me if you want but not before actually trying this stuff out.
