Pegleg NYC has been getting most of their attention for their collaboration pieces with Opening Ceremony including their most recent sweatsuits. Beyond that, they’re a phenomenal brand that’s got you covered when it comes to flamboyant and colourful Ts, tanks, shorts and sweats. If you’re hesitant, consider it to be a first step into man-tank tops. If you’re timid, the American Flag shorts are a good stepping stone to colourful times ahead.
Every time I DJ I put a few songs on my playlist that are extremely raucous and all around hard. I almost never play them, but they’re there just in case what I’m playing isn’t rowdy enough for the crowd. The song “Computer Juice” by Riton & Seiji is one of these songs. It reminds me a lot of “Smack My Bitch Up” by The Prodigy.
I often stare longingly at it waiting for the exact right time to drop. Until that time comes I’m content to blast it in my apartment and infuriate close minded neighbors. I suggest you do the same.

Producer Dot Da Genius (Day N Nite) put this track up on his site, headbangamuzik.com, recently for download. The track was recorded 3-4 years ago, but still sounds solid and strong enough to be a new Cudi track. Regardless of how you see Cudi these days he does make near-perfect music. Enjoy a little insight into what drives and slows Cudi through High N Lows.

Watching this trailer past the 10 second mark will let you know that it’s not a typical skate movie. Watching it past the 12 second mark will let you know that it’s going to be excellent. The TIFF-selected movie from Corey Adams and Alex Craig looks Wes Anderson inspired and likely super exceptional.

These guys are starting to get a lot of attention and it’s no wonder why. This is the weirdest most foreign sounding thing I have heard in a long time.

I recently read a great article about “chillwave” as a genre and the effects of labeling a burgeoning scene over at The Bygone Bureau. A great read for fans of the genre that want to know its (very short) history & origins, and for people new to the scene who want to learn more about it. Below is a snippet but you can read the full article here.
“Since the middle of 2009, much of the online music community has been abuzz with talk of a burgeoning genre known as “chillwave” (a.k.a. glo-fi, hypnagogic pop). Acts like Washed Out, Memory Tapes, and Neon Indian were crowned the consensus forerunners of the scene, and observers scrambled to cover the phenomenon. What typifies this new sound? Here’s an excellent description from The Stranger:
Sonically, this stuff is generally as mellow and relaxed as its name implies, hazy and soft, with lo-fi washes of guitar, synth, and voice all blurring together; delay and echo are common traits, as is looping and the use of samples. Aesthetically, it’s bright but faded, beachy and pastoral. The genre’s great unifying theme is a kind of fond nostalgia for some vague, idealized childhood. Its posture is a sonic shoulder shrug, a languorous, musical “whatevs” (perhaps inspired by the bleak job prospects, especially for would-be musicians, in our current crap economy).”
Does anyone else miss Kavinsky’s 80s movie inspired electro-drama sound? If so, Midnight Club is the band you have been waiting for, and “The Answer” is the song you have been waiting for.
“The Answer” comes complete with an almost 2 minute buildup that utilizes a heartbeat monitor sound to increase that drama to almost cheese inducing levels before a drop that should cause repeated head nodding. The French do it again.
